After a record start, the Atlantic hurricane season has turned silent.
We had four named storms before July even started, but there has been virtually no tropical activity since. Is that unusual or normal?
The current outlook from the National Hurricane Center shows no areas of interest to watch, meaning that the season is expected to be on the quiet side.
Believe it or not, July is normally a pretty quiet month in the tropics. Surprisingly enough, it wouldn’t be unusual at all for us to not get another storm until August.
