NAM Model Trends Colder, GFS Goes Out to Sea

Looking at the new 12z data, I am a bit surprised at what I see. Not only is one model (the NAM) now predicting accumulating snow down to the coast, but the GFS has now taken the storm so far south that it goes out to sea.

I remember reading Quincy’s article about how the GFS is not the most reliable model. I am still waiting for more 12z data to come out. Also I am wondering if this new data may be pointing towards something. I can say this though, this is a forecasting nightmare. This is because very few models agree on what will happen this weekend.

Well, only time will tell.
