Take a Trip to Blue Hills Observatory

Now that warmer temperatures are on the way, I’d like to share a great destination for weather geeks.  It is called the Blue Hill Observatory and is located in nearby Massachusetts about 10 miles south of Boston.  It’s located at the summit of Great Blue Hill on the Blue Hills reservation so there aren’t any public roads to get you there.  You’ll need to put on your hiking shoes and take a 1 mile hike to the top.

Once you get there you have the option to take a guided tour (weekends) or participate in many programs that they offer.  Some of these programs include:  Guided Hikes, Sky Art Photography classes, and the basics of weather forecasting!

I’ve never been there but I plan on going this spring.  I’ll take lots of pictures and write an article about the trip when I get back.  Has anyone been there before?  If you have please feel free to let us know how it was!
