Hottest Stretch Since Summer 2012

Although a lot of us were hoping that Memorial Day Weekend, the “unofficial” start to summer would actually ‘feel’ like summer, we know now that it definitely did not. Although things got great by Monday, we still didn’t see anything scorching and Saturday was a rough one with a cold, wind-swept rain.

But…it looks like this upcoming weekend will be the real kick-off to the summer season. In reality, it’s actually Thursday, Friday and Saturday that looks to be the warmest stretch since last summer.

So far this year, the warmest temperature in Bridgeport was 84 degrees on May 21st. The last time we had at least three consecutive days in the 80s was August 21st to the 25th when highs were between 80 and 85 degrees. It looks like three days of 80 degrees plus is very likely beginning Thursday.

For Bradley Airport, the hottest of 2013 so far was 91 degrees on May 21st. The last time we had at least three days in a row in the 80s was September 12th through the 14th with highs between 80 and 83 degrees. Beginning Thursday, three days in the 80s looks almost certain, however, the question is, “can we see three plus days in the 90s?” And it is possible. The last time we saw that was August 2nd through the 5th of 2012.
