It is May 28 and the unofficial start to summer has now passed and yet there is still a snow pile on Waite Street in Hamden! It is truly quite amazing, I keep mentioning there is snow, and people are almost shocked to be hearing that it could still be around some four months later after the blizzard, especially with day after day of above freezing temperatures!
So the question at this point is, how much longer can this snow last? I was going for this Saturday, June 1, as the absolute latest, but it might go longer! The pile is shaded by trees, and covered in dirt, so that is helping it last! There is going to be a possible heat wave with temps nearing 90 degrees later this week, so that might finally end it!
If anyone cares to leave a guess, you can do so in the comments section below. I will keep monitoring the progress of the melting of the snow pile!
