Watching A Thunder Threat & What About The Weekend?

Some concerns for thunder today and there is some good news for parts of the weekend!

Sunshine will continue heating the atmosphere through midday today. There is more wind over Connecticut today compared to the last few days. This can drive thunderstorms to reach severe levels. I am not expecting widespread thunderstorms, but any that do get going could be potent. There is a big amount of moisture in the air out there as available fuel for growth and development. Keep a watchful eye to the sky!

A passing shower or thunderstorm for some areas through the overnight hours and early Saturday before a clearing trend settles in mid-late morning. I think most of Saturday will turn out okay. A shower or thunderstorm possible at night. Saturday is my pick for outdoor plans.

Another round of showers coming in Sunday Afternoon and through early Monday.

It looks like the humidity stays here through the next week to week and a half.

If you are going to the beach this weekend be careful. There is an elevated rip current risk at Rhode Island, Mass. and Long Island beaches.

Have a good weekend and watch the sky closely this afternoon.
