Two tropical disturbances in the N. Atlantic may soon become named tropical systems.
Invest 92 (disturbance #1, as shown above)
This disturbance has been showing signs of better organization today. It is projected to move northwest over the next several days, eventually into the Gulf of Mexico. If the medium-range computer models are correct, it could threaten the Gulf Coast as a Tropical Storm or Hurricane early next week. Model forecast courtesy of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
Invest 93 (disturbance #2, as shown above)
This tropical wave off the Africa coast has an even higher probability of organizing into a named tropical system, according to the NHC. This wave is several days away from any landmass. It is expected to move west-northwest for the next week or so and could also become a Tropical Storm and eventually a Hurricane. Model forecast courtesy of the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
