Flood Advisory in effect until 1:15 p.m. for New Haven, Middlesex and New London Counties.
As of 11:05 a.m.
Showers and thunderstorms were moving from WSW to ENE across southern Connecticut. As the storms passed through the New Haven area shortly before 11 a.m., there was heavy rain and frequent lightning.
Rain and thunderstorms will move across eastern New Haven, Middlesex and New London Counties between now and 1 p.m. Expect locally heavy rainfall in these areas that may cause quick poor-drainage flooding. Lightning and thunder will accompany the strongest storms. In other areas, just a few scattered showers and be expected into early this afternoon.
From mid-afternoon into the evening hours…a few more showers and thunderstorms could pop up. The day will not be a complete washout as some areas may not see much rain at all.
