BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH)–Friends of 19-year-old Joey Klett say he didn’t have any enemies, was liked by everyone he knew, and had a big heart.
Monday night, they remembered the teen who was stabbed to death over the weekend. A huge gathering took place at Rockwell Park of heartbroken teens unable to understand an act of senseless violence.
Police say Klett was at a house party on Saturday when a fight broke out and Klett was fatally stabbed.
About a day later, police arrested his suspected killer, Joshua Daniels, hundreds of miles away in North Carolina.
Former classmates say Klett went out of his way to help others.
“There was never a dull moment with him. He was funny, he was kind. It’s bad that this kind of thing happens to him, especially him being as young as he was and as good of a person as he was,” said Victoria Labarre, Bristol.
Klett just graduated from Bristol Central High School last year. Monday, the school had counselors available to students and staff.
A Facebook page created in Klett’s memory has more than 2,000 likes.
