NEWINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — Repair crews have been busy fixing water main breaks in two towns.

In Newington, work continues to repair the road on a section of Willard Avenue after an 8″ water main broke Sunday.

The break affected the VA hospital, condos on the VA property, 100 apartments at Maurette Manor,  and 20 homes on nearby Dowd Street.

Repairs to the main were fixed early Monday morning. Any customers who see discolored water are advised to run water in the bathtub until the discoloration clears.

In neighboring Rocky Hill, repair crews wrapped up work at the scene of another water main break at the Century Hills apartment complex on Cold Spring Road.

As a courtesy crews waited until after the usual dinner hour to shut off water to the 600-unit apartment complex. They also had to shut down a section of Cold Spring Road for the repairs. That work has finished and the road is back open.
