DANBURY, Conn. (WTNH) — Three people were killed in a multi-vehicle accident in Danbury, Tuesday.

Police said three vehicles were involved in the crash on South Street around 11:45 AM, near the Danbury/Bethel line: two cars and a box truck.

Police say Edward Kish, 45, of Brookfield, was driving a 2001 Honda Accord northbound when witnesses say he was slumped over the wheel. He lost control of his car and crossed over the double yellow line, striking a 2007 Buick Lucerne traveling southbound.

78-year-old Jane Shannon was driving the Buick and William Shannon, 77, was a passenger.

The impact forced the Buick back into a 2011 International box truck, driven by Roy Bass, 59, of Middle Island, NY.

Kish, and Jane and William Shannon all died from their injuries at Danbury Hospital.

Bass was treated and released.

Anyone who may have witnessed the crash is asked to contact Danbury police at (203) 797-2157.

The cause of the crash is under investigation.
