Middletown bank robbery arrests

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (WTNH)– A couple of suspected bank robbers are going to be in court today. They were caught, thanks to the help of an off-duty Guilford police officer.

The 6-year-veteran was shopping with his family when he saw two men with masks and gloves entering the T-D Bank on Washington Street.
He called police, kept his distance and told police what he saw.

The two guys tried to get away with $3,500 in cash.
But Middletown police officers caught them while they tried to leave the parking lot.
They’ve identified the suspects as 47-year-old Hakim Salam and 44-year-old Mustafa Muhammad.
