HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut’s Department of Children and Families is working to raise awareness about the problem of sexual trafficking of minors.
The agency has planned an all-day forum Wednesday at the Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford on the subject.
Gov. Dannel P. Malloy, DCF officials, national experts, and both national and state law enforcement officials were scheduled to discuss the scope of the problem in Connecticut and how the state and federal government is working to combat sex trafficking.
More than 200 people are expected to be on hand for the event. Attendees will include judges, members of law enforcement, medical providers, hospital administrators, school officials and others who work with youth.
