Several hospitalized after Bristol house fire

BRISTOL, Conn. (WTNH) — Six people were sent to the hospital Tuesday morning after a fire broke out at a Bristol home.

Fire crews responded to the West Street fire at 6:30 AM this morning. According to initial reports, it began in the basement of the building and took 10-20 minutes to put out.

Residents of the home were able to get out and call for help, but three adults and three children were still taken to a local hospital to be checked out.

“No injuries, just they were precautionary because of smoke inhalation,” said Deputy Chief Mark Martin of the Bristol Fire Department.

The cause of the fire is unknown at this time.
