Metro-North going to hourly service this afternoon

(WTNH) — Weather-related wire problems are forcing Metro-North to go to hourly train service on the New Haven Line beginning at noon.

The delays are “because of significant weather-related problems with the overhead catenary wire,” the MTA said.

Here is the MTA’s schedule:

  • Inbound to NYC (46 minutes after the hour from New Haven; on the hour from Stamford)
  • Outbound from NYC (8 minutes after the hour to New Haven; 34 minutes after the hour to Stamford)

This is the latest trouble for Metro-North during this snowy commute. There were delays on the New Haven Line early in the morning, some westbound trains did not stop between Old Greenwich and Cos Cob, and for a time service was suspended on the New Canaan branch.
