Snow slows down Connecticut Department of Motor Vehicles

WETHERSFIELD, Conn. (WTNH)- The Department of Motor Vehicles is handing out extensions after Wednesday’s winter storm.

The DMV will extend the expiration date or period of validity of registrations, licenses, permits, certificates or other forms or credentials issued by DMV.

This includes emissions inspections and, all late fees that normally would be associated with a late renewal will be waived during the applicable time period.

The extension will apply only to those credentials or other items that expire on or after February 5, 2014.  The extension will continue until 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.  Law enforcement personnel will be notified of the dates of implementation and termination of the extension.

In addition, Department of Motor Vehicles’ road tests for Thursday are postponed until 11 a.m. DMV offices will open Thursday at 9:15 a.m., which is the regularly scheduled time.
