Lifestar responds to I-95 crash in North Stonington

NORTH STONINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– I-95 Southbound was closed between exits 93 and 92 in North Stonington due to a multi-vehicle accident, Thursday afternoon.

A van was traveling in the left lane when it struck the side of a DOT truck, that was patching a pot hole in the center lane. This caused the side of the van driven by Glen Kelley, of St. Parkersburg West Virginia, to be ripped off.

The two passengers in the van,  and Lydia Diaz, both of Pawtucket, Rhode Island, were serioulsy injured.

Arlee was taken by Lifestar to Rhode Island Hospital. Diaz was taken by ambulance to Westerly Hospital.

The driver of the third car, which was also traveling in the left lane,  Christoper Glanfrancesco, of Pinebrook, New Jersey, was not injured.

The driver of the DOT truck was also not injured.

The accient remains under investigation.
