NEW BRITAIN, Conn. (WTNH) – A New London police officer returns home after being struck and dragged down a driveway in January.

Officer Brett Morgan, 28, was released from an area rehabilitation hospital Thursday afternoon after sustaining severe injuries while investigating a stolen car complaint on January 19th.

When he approached the stolen vehicle, 19-year-old Jaheem Snype ran over the officer and dragged his body up the driveway and down the street.

Officer Morgan had several surgical procedures and intensive rehabilitation therapy. He will continue his therapy and rehabilitation as an outpatient while he heals and recovers from his injuries.

Snype has since been arrested and charged with attempted murder, assault and car theft.
