NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– There was more snow cleanup underway Thursday in downtown New Haven.
There’s crunchy snow, icy paths and sunny clear spots and if you walk to work, you want to know.
When asked how the sidewalks are, Peniel Dimberu, New Haven said, “good and bad.”
“I haven’t fallen yet, but I’ve slipped a couple of times,” said Jessica Wagner, Yale Student.
These squirrels have no problem and Zadok, the dog, loves to chase them in the ice.
“He’s got four-wheel drive so it’s a little bit easier for him to keep his footing than it is for me,” said Dimberu.
He’s got 4 wheel. But, Wagner has her rain boots.
“They haven’t been super great. They’re a little slippery,” said Wagner.
John Ginnetti saw that right in front of his door at 116 Crown.
“It stinks and for some reason it’s packed in really good and for some reason just right here in front of my restaurant,” said Ginnetti.
So he went to work, poured on the ice melt and broke out the shovel after a small scare Thursday morning.
“I was watching somebody to maneuver this and heaven forbid someone come by here in a wheelchair so we’ll get it cleaned up,” said Ginnetti.
“I think this is particularly bad because you know we had the snow on Monday and people were just starting to clear that off, then we had the other one yesterday,” said Dimberu.
A double dumping which has someone eying a new way to get around.
“I’ve got a request in for snow boots maybe for next Christmas,” said Wagner.
