FARMINGTON, Conn (WTNH)– Farmington police responded to the Galleria Restaurant on Spring Lane, after a truck drove into the building.
Police say there were people in the restaurant at the time of the accident, including a family of 12 that was sitting next to the window where the incident occurred.
According to police, the driver, an 86-year-old Farmington resident, put his foot on the gas pedal instead of the brake pedal while driving. He was transported to John Dempsey Hospital for treatment of minor injuries and evaluation. The driver’s operator’s license has been seized.
No one was seriously injured and no charges have been filed.
The Building Inspector responded and deemed the building unsafe and the restaurant is now closed.
