MYSTIC, Conn. (WTNH)– The wild weather that we’ve been getting can be pretty tough to take. But some people say they can’t get enough.
Folks at a car dealership don’t necessarily like having to clear off the snow from all the cars but what they do like is that the snow is bringing in customers who want a vehicle that can get around in it.
Jeeps, Subarus, Chevys, and Fords, if they’re four wheel or all wheel drive they’re selling.
“People are definitely seeing that they need to get out in this weather it’s not going to go away so what better way to do it than prepare yourself,” said Eric Goodwin, Bob Valenti Auto Mall.
Bob Valenti Auto Mall in Mystic along with other businesses are cashing in on the growing need to be prepared for the next winter storm.
“Boots like this are what is going right now. They’re insulated, they’re waterproof,” said Mary Barber, REM Boot and Safety Supply Co.
REM Boot and Safety Supply Company in Groton is running so low, folks are taking whatever they can as long as it’s waterproof.
“So the day before they forecast the storm we usually see a lot and the day after when people’s feet are wet and they thought they’d get away with,” said Barber.
“In terms of the SUV brands we’ve probably seen increases of ten to thirty percent,” said Goodwin.
Folks coming in also realize that eventually yes this snow will melt which also makes these Jeeps a hot item because of course in the hot weather with this convertible, it’s a fun summer car.
