Local organization hopes to break cycle of poverty

The founder and CEO of buildOn, Jim Ziolkowski, discusses buildOn an organization helping to break cycle of poverty through service and education.

BuildOn is based in Stamford, CT and has active programs in Fairfield County. It was founded in the late 1980’s by Jim Ziolkowski and its mission is to break the cycle of poverty, illiteracy and low expectations through service and education. It uses a two-pronged approach by promoting after school service programs in urban high schools and organizing efforts to fund and physically construct schools in Third World nations.
