Journalist who flew drone sues police

(WTNH) — A journalist who police questioned for flying a drone near the scene of a fatal accident is now suing the Hartford Police department.

The attorney for Pedro Rivera, a freelance photographer at WFSB, filed a federal lawsuit today against the department over lost wages.

The station suspended Rivera earlier this month after the department and the station launched investigations into the incident.

The Federal Aviation Administration is also investigating Rivera’s use of a drone.
