Parking conditions in New Haven

NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — News 8′s Kent Pierce takes a look at the road conditions and discuss the New Haven odd-side parking ban.

If you park on the street in New Haven, you may have heard about the odd-side parking ban. The city needs the cars to move so it can clear leftover snow from at least one side of every street, but it does not affect all or even most streets yet.

A city spokesman says that they are “roughly” following the trash pickup schedule, which is delayed a day by Presidents’ Day, so Tuesday pickup is happening on Wednesday this week. But, the whole process is also delayed by the need to clear the new snow off main streets.

The bottom line is that if it is happening on your block, then you will see paper signs posted to warn you to move your car.
