Beware of Potholes

NEW HAVEN, Conn, (WTNH) – The rough round of winter weather we’ve gotten can wreak havoc on your car, but there’s hope. AAA gave us some tips to help you protect your cars from potholes.

Warm temperatures are melting all of the snow we’ve gotten and the rain is adding insult to injury.

AAA says says puddles can hide potholes. When you drive over a pothole your tires and wheels take the brunt of the damage.

AAA says be sure to inspect your tires and the suspension. Also be sure to make a point of looking ahead while you drive to steer clear of potholes.

And if you must go over one, be sure to slow down. Finally, check your alignment and be aware of noises and vibration coming from your vehicle after hitting a pothole and take your vehicle to a certified technician for inspection.
