New special license plate unveiled

HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Connecticut officials gathered Friday to unveil a new special license plate for cars, trucks and motorcycles at least twenty years old.

The new plate, called “Classic Vehicle” will replace the “Early American” series now.

The plate was created by car enthusiasts who called on state officials to redesign the plate in use now. The new plate will also offer options for owners of vanity plates, which have self-designed numbers and letters.

Department of Motor Vehicle officials, state legislators and car collectors were on hand at the unveiling ceremony.
