Manchester, Conn. (WTNH)–One person was killed in a car crash along Interstate 384 in Manchester on Saturday morning, according to police.
The crash took place around 2:30 a.m. in between exits 3 and 4 in Manchester.
Police say 18-year-old Kaitlyn Carney, of West Haven, was pronounced dead at the scene after she lost control and struck a cement barrier off the left shoulder. This caused her car to roll over.
State police closed the highway for over an hour.
Police would not confirm what caused the accident, but black ice and slick road conditions were to blame for several accidents on Saturday morning.
Interstate 691 westbound was also closed for several hours between 6 and 4 in Meriden after a tractor trailer crash. The highway was reopened around 10:30 a.m. Police did not release any information on injuries in that crash.
The icy road conditions also played a role in a fatal crash on Route 44 in Barkhamsted late Friday night.
