NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH) — New Haven police have arrested one man, and are still looking for the other, in connection with two separate, deadly car accidents.
Police say 43-year-old Dieter Delgado of New Haven was under the influence when he hit a utility pole while getting off I-91 North onto State Street.
That accident happened on January 10.
Delgado and a front seat passenger were treated at Yale for non-life threatening injuries. A third passenger, 36-year-old Walter Ruiz, was in the back seat. He died at the scene.
Police have an arrest warrant out for Delgado.
Police have arrested a New Haven man in a different deadly crash that happened on June 5.
Police say 31-year-old Jamario Williams was driving a car that turned into the path of a motorcycle, killing the motorcycle driver. They say Williams fled the scene.
On February 6, Williams was pulled over in West Virginia. He is set to be handed over to New Haven authorities today.
