DARIEN, Conn. (WTNH) – Police identified a Bridgeport man as the suspect in connection with multiple burglaries spanning from Connecticut to New York.

In November 2013 Darien police investigated a West Avenue burglary resulting in more than $20,000 worth of stolen gold jewelry and coins.

Dirk C. Lloyd, 36, of Bridgeport was identified as the suspect and Danbury police have since secured his arrest warrant for burglary and larceny.

In early February Lloyd was apprehended by Miami Beach, FL Police Department as a Fugitive from Justice and was extradited to New York. He is now in custody in New York City for multiple burglaries committed in Nassau County and Queens, NY.

The Darien burglary Lloyd committed matches a pattern of dozens of burglaries that have occurred not only all over Fairfield County, but also in New York.

Darien Police searched his Bridgeport residence and recovered evidence tying him to several other burglaries in Fairfield County.

Two other local police departments will also be applying for arrest warrants for Lloyd on similar charges.

It is unknown at this time when Lloyd’s extradition to Connecticut will take place.
