Man arrested for inappropriate comments to minors

NEW CANAAN, Conn. (WTNH) – A New Canaan man was arrested for making inappropriate comments to a group of minors in January.

Andrew Barer, 52, turned himself in to police on Thursday morning once learning of the warrant out for his arrest.

Barer was as the Program Director for the Outback Teen Center in New Canaan. When visiting Saxe Middle School on January 16th to promote the center to prospective students, police received a complaint that he made inappropriate comments.

He was charged with breach of peace and released on a promise to appear at Norwalk Superior Court on March 12th
