2 killed and 1 critically injured in Bridgeport rollover

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– Two people were killed and one remains in critical condition after a rollover crash in Bridgeport, Saturday night.

Police say  the accident happened around 11 PM in the area Madison Avenue and Queen Street.

A preliminary investigation indicated that the driver of a Buick Century illegally passed another car on the right side traveling north on Madison Avenue, striking the other car on the right side mirror.

The Buick then lost control and crossed the roadway into the southbound lane, before colliding with a snow bank and going airborne.

The occupants had to be extricated by the Fire Department.

A man was pronounced dead at the hosptial and a woman later died from her injuries.

Another man remains in critical condition. He was transferred from Bridgeport Hospital to Yale- New Haven Hospital.

Speed is being investigated as a factor and the accident remains under investigation.
