Power back on in Bloomfield after poles knocked down

BLOOMFIELD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police continue to search for a driver who caused a power outage on Blue Hills Avenue in Bloomfield.

A tractor-trailer crashed into as many as five utility poles on Blue Hills Avenue just after 6 o’clock Sunday.

One pole fell across the road and caused a crash. “Occupants in one of the vehicles which struck the pole in the roadway complained of non-life threatening head injuries,”Bloomfield police said in a statement.

The road was closed between Old Windsor Road and West Dudleytown Road for several hours.

Crews worked overnight to replace the poles and the road is now back open.

Police say they are looking for a white cab pulling a white trailer. Anyone who may have seen what happened is asked to contact police at 860-242-5501.
