DANBURY, Conn. (AP) — Two Connecticut men are facing charges in New York after trying to trade a stolen handgun for heroin.
Westchester County, N.Y., police arrested John McCarthy of Sherman, and Timothy McLean of Ridgefield after the two were accused of meeting undercover officers at a parking area near Interstate 684 in Bedford, N.Y., and trying to trade a loaded .32-caliber handgun for 50 envelopes of heroin valued at about $500.
The 26-year-old McCarthy and 19-year-old McLean were charged with criminal possession of a weapon and criminal possession of a controlled substance.
It was not known Wednesday if they are represented by lawyers.
