Firefighters go bald for kids

STAMFORD, Con. (WTNH) — Stamford’s Bravest are going bald, all in an effort to raise awareness about children who are living with cancer.

Members of the Stamford Professional Fire Fighters Association are teaming up with the St. Baldrick’s Foundation for a Head Shaving ceremony Thursday. The partnership first began in 2011 and has raised more than $39,000 for the cause.

The event is also being held to raise money for research towards a cure for the debilitating disease.  All donations will go to the St. Baldrick’s Foundation.

The Head Shaving ceremony kicks off at 6PM, Thursday March 6th at Bradford’s Grill on Bedford Street in Stamford.
