Funeral Larceny Complaint

BRIDGEPORT, Conn. (WTNH)– The Bridgeport Police department is investigating a larceny complaint at the Luz de Paz funeral home.

The funeral director said he provided services for a couple whose child died in Puerto Rico. The child’s body was transported to the funeral home, which arranged services and cremation.

When the father and mother came to the funeral home last week, they asked to see the director. When the secretary left to get him, the urn containing the child’s ashes was removed from the secretary’s desk.

The services of the funeral home had not been paid in full, which prompted the larceny complaint.
