Talking about too much tree trimming

HAMDEN, Conn. (WTNH) — No one likes when the power goes out during a storm, or if it takes a long time to come back on, but many also are not thrilled with the idea of United Illuminating cutting down too many trees.

Many people have complained about the utility company’s tree-trimming policy. The company says it’s trying to be proactive by trimming trees within eight feet of any pole or wire, or 15-feet overhead.

But people are upset and want to protect the trees in their yards.

If you want to talk about it there’s a public hearing tonight at 6:30 at Hamden Middle School, 2623 Dixwell Avenue.
