CLINTON, Conn. (WTNH) – Police arrested a teenage father suspected of killing his infant daughter last spring.
Police responded to a Clinton residence in March 2013 after reports that an 8-week-old infant was not breathing. She was airlifted to Yale-New Haven Hospital, where the medical staff discovered that she had sustained life-threatening injuries consistent with “Shaken Baby Syndrome.”
The child died a few days later due to blunt head trauma and medical examiners classified her death as a homicide.
Police began investigating the situation, and the then 17-year-old father, Reushawn Foster, was deemed a suspect.
Police learned of Foster’s recent move down to Columbia, South Carolina and he was soon arrested in the state as a fugitive from justice.
He was transported to the Juvenile Detention Center in Hartford on Wednesday and was arraigned in Middletown Superior Court on Thursday. His case was transferred to the adult court now that he is 18 years old.
Foster is currently being held on a $750,000 bond and faces charges of manslaughter.
