WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) — One man is dead and a suspect is in the hospital after a stabbing at a home in Windsor Thursday night, police said.
Carl Mitchell, 40, was stabbed in the chest at his home on Bina Ave., and pronounced dead at the hospital.
Police were called to the home about 7:40 Thursday night for a reported stabbing. Witnesses told police that a man stabbed Mitchell at least one time.
Police arrested Ray Smith, 42, who also lived in the home, on murder and interfering with an officer charges.
“Smith remained on scene and was taken into custody after a brief struggle wherein officers were forced to use a Taser to gain control of him,” police said in a news release.
Police said Smith and Mitchell had been talking about a phone call when the victim was attacked.
Smith is in police custody at Hartford Hospital. It’s not clear when he would be arraigned in court.
