HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Fuel and home heating, home improvement, and those telemarketing calls topped the 2013 list of top consumer complaints in Connecticut in 2013, the Department of Consumer Protection said Friday.
More than 6,000 written complaints were received by DCP, along with tens of thousands of calls.
“Consumers should contact us whenever they have a problem with a business that they cannot remedy themselves,” Consumer Protection Commissioner William Rubenstein said in a news release. “Filing a written complaint not only will result in possible help for the consumer, but will also alert us to an issue or illegality that is likely to affect many other people, and needs immediate correction.”
