Southington Man Arrested for Wolcott Robberies

Brett Downs

WOLCOTT, Conn. (WTNH)- Wolcott police arrested 32-year-old Brett Downs of Southington for robbing a Cumberland Farms store, twice.

Police say Downs robbed the store on Meriden Road in Wolcott back on December 23.

They say he held the clerk at knife-point, stole all the money in the cash register and took off.

Then, police say, on January 31, Downs went to the same store, held the clerk at knife-point and stole all the money in the cash register.

Police say DNA from a sock, left at the scene, brought them to Downs.

Downs has also been arrested by Southington police, for a similar robbery. Police say he is also a suspect in similar robberies in other towns.
