HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — The body of a woman found in a home owned by the late Doc Hurley was his daughter, Hartford police said Monday.

Police say Muriel Hurley, 50, was found dead in the home on Ridgefield Street Sunday night.

An autopsy was inconclusive, police said. There was no obvious cause of death and no signs of trauma.

The state filed suit against Muriel Hurley in January, accusing her of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars from her father’s foundation on herself.

She was the executive director of the Doc Hurley Scholarship Foundation, which has been awarding college scholarships for nearly 40 years ago.

Doc Hurley passed away at 91 just last month.
