Lawmaker’s son found dead in Windsor hotel room

WINDSOR, Conn. (WTNH) -– The 33-year-old son of a state representative was found dead in a room at the Flamingo Inn in Windsor Sunday.

Josue Maldonado of Amity Street in Hartford was pronounced dead at the scene. Police were called to the hotel for a report of an unresponsive man.

Maldonado is the son of state Rep. Minnie Gonazalez, D-Hartford.

He checked into the Flamingo Inn at about 2:30 a.m. Sunday morning. An unknown female was spotted leaving his room four hours later, around 6:30 a.m. Housekeeping staff found him unresponsive at 1:28 p.m. and immediately called for help.

There is no initial signs of foul play, police said, and the cause of death is still unknown. An autopsy will be performed on the body in Farmington on Monday afternoon.

Anyone with information about the identify of the woman leaving Maldonado’s room or his cause of death is asked to contact the Windsor Police Department.
