RIDGEFIELD, Conn. (AP) — Authorities have identified a pedestrian who died after being hit by a car in Ridgefield as a 15-year-old high school sophomore who starred in a local production of “The Nutcracker” in December.

Police say Ridgefield High School student Emma Sandhu was struck Friday night while walking with friends on Ridgebury Road. She later died at Danbury Hospital.

The driver stopped and was interviewed by police, who continue to investigate the accident. No charges have been filed.

Counseling services are being made available at the high school and the Ridgefield Youth Service Bureau.

Emma is being remembered as a talented dancer who played the Snow Queen in “The Nutcracker” at the Ridgefield Playhouse in December.

Calling hours are scheduled for Tuesday and her funeral will be held Wednesday.
