NEW HAVEN, Conn. (WTNH)– An 18-year-old was arrested after making threats to blow up Wilbur Cross High School in New Haven Monday.
Police say school resource officers were alerted to a 911 call around 9:10 a.m., in which the caller indicated he would blow up the school.
The school was then evacuated to off-site warm shelters while police searched the school. It was reopened after an hour and a half.
After an investigation, Wilfredo Gonzalez was arrested and charged with breach of peace, falsely reporting an incident and misuse of a 911 call.
Gonzalez later confessed to making the call, as well as a similar one that prompted the same response on March 4.
He also fought with officers in detention to which he was charged with interfering.
