NORWALK, Conn. (WTNH)– An inmate was charged with attempted arson Friday, after breaking into the State’s Attorney’s Office in Norwalk last year.
Police say on March 3, 2013, a suspect broke in through a window at the State’s Attorney Office of the Norwalk Superior Court around 10:49 PM.
Troopers responded when the alarm was activated and the suspect fled through a back door. Investigators later found evidence that the suspect had been attempting to start a fire.
After an investigation, Joseph Stephenson was arrested at the MacDougall Correctional Institute.
Stephenson was charged with criminal attempt arson, burglary, criminal mischief and interfering with a search warrant. He was unable to post his $150,000 bond and remained in custody.
