HARTFORD, Conn. (AP) — Connecticut transportation officials are inviting the public to weigh in on improvements planned for Hartford’s Union Station.

Project improvements include building a high-level passenger boarding platform and a second set of exit stairs. Other changes will include a passenger information display system, security cameras and ticket vending machines.

Construction is set to begin in early 2015 and be completed in late 2016.

The Department of Transportation has scheduled a public information meeting for 4 p.m. Thursday in the station’s Great Hall.
