SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH)– The ShopRite of Southington has sold another top prize winning lottery ticket,  just over three months after it sold its first, both with a prize of $1 million or over.

On Monday, customer Lawrence Hall, of Southington, won the $2,000,000 top prize off a “Big Money” instant ticket he purchased at the ShopRite on 750 Queen Street.

A little over three months ago, customer Angelo Colella, of Plainville, won $1,000,000 off a “Silver & Gold” instant ticket that he purchased at the same ShopRite as Hall.

“We were thrilled in December when we learned that one of our customers purchased a $1,000,000 prize winning ticket,” said Don Drust, Sr., one of the ShopRite of Southington’s principal owners. “The news of 2,000,000 win is even more exciting. We’re very happy for Mr. Hall, and wish him the best of luck.”

The CT Lottery say Hall opted for a cash lump sum value of $1,156,800 instead of 20-year annuity prize. Hall was presented with a check for $790,094 after taxes.

The odds of winning the top prize in the $20 “Big Money” game are 1 in 504,000.

ShopRite of Southington will receive a $20,000 bonus from the CT Lottery for selling the top prize winning ticket.
