Pedestrian breaks leg in clash with car

NEW CANAAN, Conn. (WTNH) – A woman was struck by a car and injured this morning on Park Street, near Elm Street, in New Canaan.

According to police, the woman was trying to cross the street, against traffic, when she was struck. Witnesses say the driver had the green light, and the victim stepped off the curb in front of the vehicle.  She was hit by the passenger side of the car.

The victim is identified as a 45-year-old woman from New Canaan.  She suffered a broken leg and was taken to the hospital.  The car that struck her was driving by a 24-year-old man from New York state.  He stopped at the scene and was not hurt.
