Arrest made in Guilford home invasion

GUILFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Police in Guilford have arrested the suspect they say is responsible for a home invasion.

36-year-old Joseph Lachat of 1314 Quinnipiac Court in New Haven turned himself into police Wednesday morning.

The home invasion happened on Hart Landing early Saturday morning. Police say a man and woman were injured, one of them taken to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated.

According to officials, the attack stemmed from a domestic violence incident.

Police say the victims and home were targeted and there was no real threat to the general public.

Lachat is facing multiple charges including Home Invasion, two counts of Second Degree Assault and two counts of Second Degree Criminal Mischief.

He’s being held on $500,000 bond and will be arraigned Wednesday.
