VERNON, Conn. (WTNH)– A 45-year-old man was arrested Wednesday for two sexual assaults committed against minors in Vernon.
Daniel Wine, of Rockville, was arrested while already in the custody of the Department of Corrections.
Police say the first incident took place in 2012 and wasn’t reported to Vernon police until May 2013. An investigation revealed that a 14-year-old reported that while she slept at Wine’s house, he put her finger in his mouth and exposed himself.
Wine was charged with risk of injury to a minor and his bond was set at $35,000.
The second arrest warrant for Wine involved another juvenile who came forward after Wine’s first arrest. The warrant alleged that Wine had sexual intercourse and performed improper touching and sex acts on the victim over several years, while the victim was under the age of 12.
Wine also allegedly took nude photos of the victim.
Wine was charged in this incident for sex assault, risk of injury, conspiracy sex assault, criminal attempt sex assault, conspiracy of risk of injury to a minor, criminal attempt of risk of injury and employing a minor in an obscene performance.
His bond for that warrant was set at $200,000.
